Back in May my Dell Mini netbook totally biffed it when a friend of Shirley’s tried to install Daemon Tools on it so I could play some games. Now I have no idea what Daemon Tools is other than the fact that my netbook died when Mr. Daemon requested to reboot. Dunno what the hell happened but it wouldn’t boot up Windows anymore. Couldn’t even get it to run in SAFE MODE. Now you know there’s something wrong.
Two months later and after hitting up every computer literate person I knew, it all pointed to having to format and reinstall from a disc. Thankfully because of my muzak needs I threw down an extra hunned bucks for a USB CD/DVD drive when I ordered my netbook since netbooks don’t come with one built in. Rest of the time was spent scouring around for anyone with installation CDs (those too do not come with the netbook but it makes sense). Didn’t have any luck until…
TODAY!!! I managed to dig up the old Windows XP Home Edition disc that came with my first laptop that I bought waaaay back in 2004. Just spent the past hour and a half reinstalling and now my netbook works again! YAY! Granted I lost some files and programs that I’m gunna have to download again, but meh *shrugs*, at least this $300 isn’t lost anymore! I’ll take a pic of my sleek little badboy; it’s good to have you back!
